Slam Dunk Festival, Leeds

There aren't too many festivals the size of Slam Dunk Festival that cater to the appeal of fans of "alternative music", but this festival has become a staple of sorts to not only offering fans to hear and see bands who've experienced lengthy careers, but to showcase new and exciting acts to thousands of spectators. With the festival being in its 10th year, the only way to culminate this celebration was to bring back one of the acts that the festival, and its record label helped to propel into the stratosphere of the main stream, non other than You Me At Six.

May is sometimes hit and miss weather wise, but today was a surprise to the system, with the sun beating down on the festival all day, and the synonymous ode to pop punk of sunshine was hear in the full force. As outdoor festivals go this was my first and it was a luxury to say the least with being able to loose the stress the shooting inside, and worrying about lighting, it was a breeze in contrast, with the natural light throughout the daytime offering an abundance of compositions.

Standout acts of the day were PVRIS, Bayside, Lower Than Atlantis and You Me At Six.
